How to create a personalized jewelry set
One of the most frequent requests this year has been the possibility of creating earrings to match the chosen wedding bands, the engagement ring, or, more generally, the style of the wedding dress.
I know I’ve mentioned this before, but for this launch, we wanted to do something extra: start from some of the common requests we’ve received in the past few months and show you how to create a personalized jewelry set right here in the Lab.
As a starting point, we chose HIM, our beloved Fleur Ring with Aquamarine.

HIM because it was actually the star of a customization that thrilled us;
HIM because, with the rètro elements that define it, he’s an endless source of inspiration and can be adapted to countless variations and possibilities;
HIM because we wanted to take this opportunity to let you know that it’s now back in stock!
That’s right, it’s once again a ONE OF A KIND piece, and, yes, once again, the aquamarine has a truly stunning shade of blue.

SAME STYLE, SAME COLORS
I’d love to create a pair of earrings identical to the Fleur ring, echoing its style and colors.
The first example is, so to speak, the perfect match.
If the reference ring has a repeatable design, the best approach is to find a way to incorporate that element into the earrings. In this case, the small stylized flower with grain-set diamonds becomes a perfect pattern to include in the design.

We could have placed it as a stud, as the first element, but we chose to give it an immediate touch of brilliance with a diamond and framed it between two smaller diamonds for emphasis.
A simple and effective way to bring movement to the shapes, playing with the volumes.
And finally, after all that sparkle, we have the aquamarine’s blue in a large teardrop cut.

Of course, this is just one of the many possibilities this combination offers.
Depending on your taste and style, you can reduce or increase the number of elements, adjust the carat and cut of the stones, or replicate the “fleur” pattern multiple times to create more intricate and alternating designs… all while maintaining a wonderful sense of harmony.

SAME STYLE BUT MORE MINIMAL
I’d like the earrings to have the same retro style as the Fleur ring, but in a more minimal version, both in shape and color.
Many of the requests we receive revolve around adjectives like minimal, simple, thin… words we certainly love but which, contrary to what one might think, do not make the creative process any easier.
In this case, the challenge is greater because it requires thinking through subtraction, focusing on small details and the uniqueness of each element. Fortunately, when it comes to uniqueness and fine details, handcrafted work truly excels.

To best meet this request, we decided to divide the earring into two parts: in the first, we played with the retro pattern from the ring, both replicating it as a stud and breaking it down to create a thin bar adorned with small diamonds. In the second, we focused entirely on movement.
And since a single chain didn’t seem enough to make those diamonds dance, we doubled it!

Here too, there are plenty of possible variations. The first part with stones can accommodate additional cuts or carats, or the pattern can be varied without altering the retro style of the original piece.

All of our creations can be made using the customer’s own gold and stones, so if you have old or broken gold jewelry that you no longer wear, you can bring it to the Lab and we’ll work together to transform it into something new.

Example of customization
This model was created based on the Fleur earrings design. The customization included adding two antique-cut diamonds from the customer’s and transforming the hanging decoration with a navette of diamonds, still in retro style, to match the Amelie wedding bands.

WITH A BOHO TOUCH
Is it possible to create earrings to match my ring but with a boho touch like my dress?
Boho style. Another of the most mentioned and written terms in requests over the past year.
For those who aren’t familiar, it’s a style that draws its strength from individuality and personality, and, as artisans, it’s impossible to resist this mix of creative freedom and nature. I love its countertrend nature, its tendency to embrace everything raw, irregular, and unpolished. Its habit of layering and combining. And at the same time, here in the Lab, we adore its bohemian soul that lives off retro elements and draws inspiration and symbols from gypsy culture, giving life to entirely personal and innovative interpretations.

We could have taken completely different paths, and all of them would have aligned with the original request.
We chose to propose the one that had the most success this year: pairing diamonds with baroque pearls.
An elegant and sophisticated retro element combined with something irregular and “unpolished”.

The baroque pearl is a unique element, full of character and personality, which is why it doesn’t clash with other stones and can easily be paired with jewelry that features colored gems.

To create boho earrings matching the Sunrise wedding bands chosen by the couple, I designed faceted spheres to serve as studs, from which two small dangling baroque pearls were attached.

SIMPLE, SIMPLE… BUT WITH SOMETHING MORE
I always wear stud earrings, but for my wedding day, I’d like something different.
We’ve come to the queen of requests.
How do you decide to purchase a pair of 18k gold earrings to wear with your wedding dress and then never (or almost never) again?
If you’re used to wearing only studs every day for reasons of taste, style, practicality, etc., you’re likely to give up on buying a pair of dangling gold earrings, even if they’d be perfect for the occasion.
In these cases, we believe the best solution is to create a pair of stud earrings along with a pair of jacket earrings, so you can wear them every day by choosing the more comfortable version: studs for everyday use, and dangly ones when you want to add that extra touch of style.

To respect the original pairing, the stud earrings had to feature the small pattern from the ring, while for the dangly ones, there were many possibilities, but we chose the Ibiza jacket, simple yet striking with the elegant sway of its chains.
